IpKit

self-hosted networking tools

a toolkit for IP address management

IpKit keeps your address plans and network configs in one place, on your own hardware. Plan and annotate subnets, then generate the netplan file that puts them on the wire. No accounts, no cloud, no telemetry.

curl -fsSL https://dl.ipkit.no/installer.sh | sudo bash

One command. Docker is installed for you if it is missing.

two tools, one install

what you get

subnet / plan

ipkit-planner

Add subnets, enumerate every address, and annotate them as you go. Search across the whole plan when you need to remember what lives on .47.

  • IPv4 and IPv6
  • per-host notes and status
  • plans stored per user on your server
  • JSON export
  • optional encrypted credential storage
  • ARP reachability checks from the host

netplan / gen

ipkit-generator

Build valid netplan.yaml for Ubuntu and Debian without re-reading the schema docs every time. Fill in the form, copy the YAML.

  • ethernet, Wi-Fi, bridges, bonds, VLANs
  • networkd and NetworkManager
  • netplan v2 schema
  • static addressing, DHCP, routes, DNS
  • live YAML preview
  • no login required

the rest of it

built to stay out of the way

Yours end to end

Runs in a single Docker container on your own machine. Data lives in a directory you control.

Multi-user

Admin panel for accounts and permissions. Every user gets their own address plan.

Two skins

A calm enterprise look or a darker futuristic one, each with light and dark modes.

Updates in the UI

Release notifications appear in the admin panel and updates apply with one click.

Install only what you need

Run both tools, or just the planner, or just the generator.

Proxy friendly

Sits happily behind nginx, Caddy or Traefik with a trusted-proxy setting.

getting started

up and running in a few minutes

  1. Run the installer on any Linux host with Docker, or let it install Docker for you.
  2. Pick a mode — both tools, planner only, or generator only.
  3. Create the admin account when prompted, then open the host in a browser.
curl -fsSL https://dl.ipkit.no/installer.sh | sudo bash

Re-run the same command later to update, change the mode, or reset the admin password. Requirements: a Linux host, Docker, and port 80.
